During their undergraduate training or other training courses, many workers in the field of counseling, social care practice or marital- and family therapy, have been introduced in the contextual approach. For those who want to develop their skills, this Master offers a two years training, which goes beyond an introduction. This Master focusses on deepening not only the theoretical and practical skills in a contextual method, but also seeks deepening, broadening and integration with other (system-based) methods. In short: the Master for offering help to families.
Goals
After succesfully finishing this Master, you are able to think conceptually and independently about problems and questions regarding your work and study area. You also control the ingredients of the therapeutic action and in particular of the Contextual Approach to the extent that you may be considered capable of self-directed and autonomous development thereof.
Admission requirements
Audience
Aid workers who have much to do with more or less complex family and relationship issues and related problems. Examples include: psychologists, pedagogues, relationship / system therapists, social workers, SPH'ers, SPV'ers, youth workers (residential and outpatient), mental health staff (both adults and youth care), private providers and possibly pastoral workers.
Registration
The successful completion of the Master Contextual Therapy gives you the right to use the title of MCT (Master Contextual Therapy)
Content
Part 1: General
In this section, deepening and widening of the basic concepts of contextual assistance center. This is supported by the classes in psychology include themes as attachment and object relations theory to elaborate. In the lessons Philosophy / Ethics are the foundations of the examined contextual thinking and how they relate to your own beliefs.
Part 2: Parents and children, brothers and sisters
This section developmental issues (development of juvenile to individualization) deepened and applied action strategies, both from contextual perspective and from several other schools. The line from youthful to mature is pulled. Particular theme: the elderly, grief, farewell. The diagnosis of the current DSM is discussed, again linked to the methodology.
Part 3: Partnerships

In a life-session and in the methodology lessons Contextual Approach we bring a balanced and targeted integration of several methods establish.
Part 4: Integration
In this final section builds on the knowledge and skills and is used to integrate the learning outcomes achieved in your professional practice. Recreate life-sessions and practical part of the program. Additionally you intensive and supervised with your final project to go ahead. Special theme: assistance to immigrants.
